Blackjack Box Holder
Box Holder
A box holder is the person sitting at the Black Jack table and responsible for cards dealt at that particular box. The box holder decides everything from buying a card, passing, splitting or doubling (these term are explained further on).
A box holder can play more than one box at a time. If there are any boxes unoccupied then the box holder is eligible to
put bets on these boxes.
If there are several players who want to play that particular
box then the rule is that the person with the highest bet has the right to play.
If players have an even bet value then the rule is that the player sitting closest to the shoe has the right to play.
If there is only one box holder playing then it is compulsory to play at least two boxes.
A box holder has the right to refrain from playing for three consecutive hands otherwise he/she has to leave the table or hand the box holder ship to another player.
• it is not at any time permitted to influence the box holder on any decision that has to be made.
Tip: some players mimic the bank:, buy up to 16, pass on 17 and higher and never split or double. It has been calculated by a computer that a player who plays this way only has 5.73% % less chance of winning than a dealer. The reason that the chance less is because if the player buys too many then he/she will lose the bet before the dealer does.
