Basic Objective

There are three different ways to bet at a Punto Banco table - Punto, Banco and Egalite. These are the only three options.

When the game starts the croupier will draw two cards for Punto and two cards for Banco. This is done in the following order: Punto, Banco, Punto and Banco. The total number of points will be added up separately for Punto and for Banco. The one closest to 9 will win.

Example: if Punto has a total number of 7 and Banco has a total number of 8, then Banco will win and the croupier will pay all the winning bets on Banco.

Egalite is a French word and means tie. If Punto and Banco both have the same number of points then this is called Egalite and all bets stay on the table. If anyone has bet on Egalite at this point then they will be paid out according to the pay table.
