Punto Banco is a card game like Black Jack where the players play against the bank and not against each other. The game began in Italy around 1400 where it was also called Baccarat. About a century later the game had found its way to France where it was very popular. The game was played only by the elite and a lot of money was lost and won. The French gave this game various different names like Chemin de Fer but the rules where always basically the same.
