Place a Bet

Place a bet

You buy chips from the table or from the casino. These have a value, which you can use to place your bets.

The whole game is quite simple because you only choose a number or numbers on which you would like to bet and then place your chips on these numbers. The croupier will turn the wheel one way and then the ball in the opposite direction. The ball will eventually fall into one of the 37 sections of the wheel and that is the winning number. If you have a chip on this number you will win according to the pay table.

The game only gets a bit complicated when you look into the different bet placing possibilities.

Straight up: this is when a chip is placed on one number.

Split: this is when a chip is placed on the line between two numbers, you are then betting on two numbers with one chip.
Street: a roulette table is split up into 12 rows of 3, each of these rows is called a street. If you place a chip at the end of the street you will bet on the three numbers in that street.

Corner: this is when a chip is placed at the corner of four different numbers. You then bet on four different numbers.

Sixline: this bet is a lot like a street bet, but you bet on two streets that are beside each other. You place the bet in the end corner where the two streets meat.

Column: the roulette table is also split up into columns left, middle and right. You place your bets at the bottom of the table under the numbers 34, 35 or 36. If you place under the 36 then you cover all the numbers in that column.

Low numbers: this is the section where 1-18 is printed on the roulette table. If you bet here then you are betting on all the numbers from 1 to18.

High numbers: this is the exact same as a low number bet but then the rest of the numbers, 19-36.

Even: this is the section on the table where “Even” is printed. If you place a bet on Even you are betting on all the even numbers from 1-36.

Odd: this is the same as an Even bet but on all the odd numbers.

Red: you bet on all the red numbers.

Black: you bet on all the black numbers.

1st 12: this is the section on the table with the printed text “1st 12”. If you place a chip here you are betting on the first dozen, 1-12.

2nd 12: this is the section on the table with the printed text “2nd 12”. If you place a chip here you are betting on the second dozen, 13-24.

3rd 12: this is the section on the table with the printed text “3rd 12”. If you place a chip here you are betting on the third dozen, 25-36
